endocrine system

The endocrine system is made up of a series of glands that produce chemicals called hormones to regulate the body. Hormones regulate many functions of an organism, including mood, growth and development, tissue function, and metabolism. Typical endocrine glands include the pituitary, thyroid, adrenal, pineal, hypothalamus, parathyroid, thymus, adreanal, pancreas, testes in men and ovaries in women.
